Fursuit Dance Comp got you hyped and wanna see more? Join us for this improv dance event where fursuiters and non-suit dancers compete to see who's the G.O.A.T. of the cypher. Express yourself at FCL Freestyle!

Rules

Signing Up: No sign-ups are required. Just show up to the ballroom during the event!

Competition Format: The event will start with an hour long dance cypher, followed by judges picking 4 dancers that added the best energy to the cypher. These dancers will go battle against each other to determine the G.O.A.T. of the cypher.

Dance Cypher: A dance cypher is when a group of dancers are standing in a circle, and they take turns hopping into the center of the circle to showcase their freestyle dancing.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT CYPHER ETIQUETTE:

• No unwanted physical contact, please keep your hands to yourself.
• One at a time, there can only be one dancer in the center of the cypher at a time.
• You have a time limit, don't overstay your welcome in the center of the cypher.
• No food or drinks, we do not want any accidental spills happening anywhere near the cypher.
• No props allowed, if you're not wearing it then it shouldn't be part of the cypher.
• The edge of the cypher is for competitors, if you don't intend on jumping into the cypher then you should back off. Give the space to dancers that want to jump in.

Dance Battles: A dance battle is when two or more dancers take turns to freestyle dance to a given song. The judges' top 4 picks will participate in a small dance battle tournament.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT DANCE BATTLES:

• The rules of cypher etiquette also apply to the dance battles.
• All battles are 1v1.
• All battles will involve a single full-length song with no countdown.
• If neither dancer decide to dance first, a bottle will be spun to pick who goes first.
• Judges will vote at the end of the song using left/right voting.
• The winners of the semifinal battles will get to participate in the final battle.

Do I need to wear a fursuit for this event?

No, dress however you wish to express yourself! Just please keep all attire appropriate for a general audience

Will the event be filmed?

Yes, we hope to have the event streamed and recorded for people to watch!
